Cooktop Repair — the two questions we get most
Induction zones cut out one after another when the kitchen is hot.
That is thermal protection working, not a fault in the coils. The electronics sit under the glass and need somewhere to dump heat; a cabinet with no clearance, or a drawer packed underneath, will do this every July. It is usually a ventilation fix, not a new cooktop.
There is a hairline crack in the glass and one zone has stopped.
The crack has almost certainly broken a coil connection or let the touch layer fail. The glass top is replaceable as an assembly for most models — it is worth checking the part is still available for your serial before assuming the worst.
